Life In The Fast Lane

Time is flying by-I can't believe we have had a baby rat for 3 weeks now! He has had a big growth spurt (really enjoyed breast feeding him every 45 minutes for 2 days) and outgrew all of his clothes that he wore for the first two weeks. He now wears 3 month old clothes, more for length than girth. He is a mini-giant (if that makes any sense).

He has discovered that he has legs which means he enjoys kicking my jelly belly while I feed him and blankets last on him for about 30 seconds. He has discovered that he can hold his soother in his mouth with his hand and also that he can fling it across the room when he wants the real thing. He loves going for a walk and slept for about 3 hours in his stroller in the backyard-being outside is where he is happiest or staring at a light (the mall was very exciting the other day). We are having a good time taking him places-he has been to Fundy National Park, The Blue Door, Casey's Diner, the mall, the grocery store and a number of other places. Other than the fact it takes us a bit longer to get out the door, he is fitting into our life quite nicely!

Iain's mother and father came down on Tuesday and stayed until Sunday. We enjoyed their visit and they got to meet their first grandchild. Iain and his Dad donned their carpenter belts and built a wonderful fence on the side of our house-I can now let the dogs out the side kitchen door and not worry about them. This is great for my sanity and their lifespan.
