First Pair Of Shorts

Yes, I know it is being just a tad optimistic buying shorts and a sun hat but Mom and I couldn't resist when we went shopping yesterday. I think everyone should have a little boy-they are lots of fun to dress up.

More Easter Presents

Nathaniel received some wonderful presents from his aunts, uncles and cousin when we had everyone over for Easter dinner on Sunday. He is shown here taking his second new vehicle of the day for a spin...maybe Mommy and Daddy should communicate better with Uncle Kris and Aunt Alana!!

Easter Present

I cracked at literally the last minute (8:50PM on Saturday night) and bought Nathaniel this little ride on trike for Easter. He is thoroughly delighted by it and is even cool enough to drive with one hand already. No Driver's Ed for this boy.

Mr. Mangy

This mangy old teddy of Iain's was resurected out of some box of childhood mementos and placed into Nate's unsuspecting hands while he was sleeping by his even mangier (is that a word?) father. I understand the sentimental value, but quite frankly, this bear is gross. It has huge bald patches and scratchy fur. Let's just put it this way-if this thing was alive, it would definitely eat out out of garbage cans while it scratched at it's flea infested body. Luckily, there seems to be no strong attachment to it and I intend on keeping it that way.

The House Of Cousinly Love...Sometimes

Nathaniel is delighted every time he sees Karson-he can't take his eyes off of him. For the most part they are very cute together, but every once in awhile, the green eyed monster rears it's ugly head. The monster paid us a visit over Easter when there was a bit of jealousy over some new toys combined with a lot of chocolate highs and lows that made us glad there are more sweet moments than sour.

Watching His Best Friend...TV!

Iain and I swore that Nathaniel would not watch TV...yeah, well that lasted about one week. Right from when he was a newborn, he was fascinated with television and unless you decided to never watch TV again, it was pretty much impossible to avoid him looking at it. Then we modified our outlook and said he could watch whatever we watched but no kids shows. That was pretty easy since we both detest all shows aimed at kids (they are just so frigging annoying-I hate all the stupid songs. Plus I just find it really weird when grown men want to act like that..)

Then one day he was really whiny and we were both exhausted so we dug out the 3 pack of Baby Einstein videos we received for Christmas and popped one into my laptop. Instant silence-total mesmerization. We quickly pushed all feelings of guilt out of the way by adding another clause to the no TV manifesto-kid TV is okay as long as we are holding him. We have no aim of increasing his intelligence by watching these videos, it is all about him shutting up for half an hour so we can recharge the patience battery. Can't wait to see what else we are going to capitulate on.

I came home from work the other day and noticed one of the DVD's had made it's way downstairs into the DVD player-hee hee!

Snowshoeing

Last weekend we enjoyed a mild Sunday afternoon and went snowshoeing. We went for about 2 hours and it was so beautiful out in the woods. We hiked down to my brother's hunting camp, busted in (took the screwdriver out of the padlock hole-real high tech, Kris) and rested our weary legs. When we walked in, I had a mild heart attack because I looked up and saw a bobcat perched up on the ceiling beam. After about 2 seconds, I realized it was dead and stuffed, but it looked real enough to cause a moment of slight distress. I have a feeling it was strategically placed there for just that effect.

As you can see, Nate was really into it, so much that he woke up for about 5 whole minutes. He loves having a nap outside and I think bobbing up and down in the pack lulls him into a deep sleep, which I am all for. I think every parent should have a Baby Bjorn and some kind of backpack like this one. Nathaniel is always very content when he is strapped onto Iain and we can do whatever we want whereas he is not so patient in his stroller or a shopping cart.

Sweet Baby Boy

This is quite possibly my favourite picture in a while.

Hmm...Mom's Watch

Since our menagerie is always hovering around us, I tend to forget how ridiculous it is to have 5 pets until I see that in almost every picture there is some fur skulking off somewhere. Thankfully, there is such a thing as cropping.

Love the pissed off look on Boo's face in this one-she is mad because the flash disturbed her 23 hour sleep marathon.

Standing Tall

He is now moving on from wanting to constantly sit to wanting to constantly stand. He can go for a good minute on his own before he collapses and you have to have quick hands to catch him-he has had a couple of knocks to prove just how slow Mom and Dad can be!

Nice bald spot, eh?

Fun Website For A Good Cause

Check out this website to flex your linguistic muscles. For every word you get right, 20 grains of rice are donated to hungry people. I think the site is legit-the rice is paid for by the advertisers under the words.

I got to level 43...any challengers out there?

Dirty Piglet

Sitting happily, munching on a baby biscuit. He had cookie goo from his eyebrows to his toes.
