When I was 21, I spent about a year down in Florida being a nanny for my two little cousins, Jamie and Lindsey, who were 4 and 2 years old at the time. While I was there, my aunt became pregnant with Leah. I have always thought the world of these 3 kids and once Iain and I started dating, he fell in love with them too.
Every single time they come home, the kids sleepover for at least one night (the only exception being this summer when I had Nate). They flew up for a visit after Christmas and crashed at our place last night and it was so fun to see them think Nathaniel was the greatest thing, much like how I always felt about them.

The Two Dingos
If Iain and my grandmother were the same age, I swear he would have left me for her ages ago. These two get along like a house on fire-they never stop talking and flirting with each other. Iain has finally found his soul mate for someone who actually likes to talk about cats for 2 hours straight and they both enjoy dissecting the finer parts of my character, usually right in front of me. My grandmother has always had a hankering for tall men, so Iain fits the bill on that one also. Plus they are both from Ontario and like to pretend they are Maritimers. I could go on and on about this torrid love affair, but I am starting to get a little jealous.
Candy Bouquet
Our friends, Brent and Andrea Rowney, opened up a great new business called Candy Bouquet. Basically, they create wonderful baskets, bouquets, centre pieces, etc made out of candy and delicious chocolates (think high quality chocolates like Lindor). They made this one for Mom for Christmas and we all enjoyed looking at it and eating it. This is a great alternative to flowers and a wonderful present for people like grammies, the day care worker, teachers (I would much prefer this over yet another coffee mug)-basically for anyone who doesn't need another knick knack. The bouquets are really cool so if you want one for Valentine's, let me know and I will give you the number.

4 Month Old Sweetness
Hmmm...4 months old is a pretty great time:
- The first baby giggles-need I say anything more?
- How crazy you act to make that baby giggle again.
- The huge smiles aimed right at your heart when you walk in the room.
- That special smile your baby gives only you when they wake up.
- How interested they are in the world-everything must be touched and tasted.
- The beginning of mobility-watching the look of surprise as they master rolling over.
- The facial expressions during that first foray into the world of solids.
- That great "baby smell" of an infant's head.
- When they bury their face into your neck.
- The sudden genuine interest in being read to.
- All the goo's and gah's of infant language.
