Mr. Disgusto

A few nights ago, I was in the kitchen cleaning up and Iain was entertaining Sarah in the livingroom and we each thought the other was keeping an eye on Nathaniel. We quickly realized he was enjoying a little free time when he came into the living room drenched in water from head to toe.

Did I mention he had the toilet brush in his hand?

I didn't even want to touch him but a shower was a quick necessity. As I dragged him into the bathroom, there was water everywhere and about 2 tbsp of water in the toilet bowl. I had a fleeting thought of sanitizing him with some sort of cleaner but decided I really didn't want Family and Community Services seizing him permanently.

Gross little boy.

Sarah

Nothing like a pair of hot pink velour pants to help you make it through the day.

Good Lord

I was sitting in the kitchen emailing when suddenly Nathaniel started laughing hysterically. He had climbed into the baby swing and had it going about 100mph-without me noticing. Did I mention I was about 3 feet away from the swing when it happened? As you can see by the expression on his face that he thoroughly enjoyed dong something he knew was completely wrong.

Tough Guy

Nathaniel split his forehead open when he tripped over a rock and smashed into the gate in the fence. He cried so hard that he didn't even make any noise for about the first 30 seconds. Makes him look tough now, though.

Pretty Kitty

Jill dropped by to meet Sarah today on her lunch break and brought a wonderful book with her (shocking present from the literacy mentor for our school district- hee hee!!). Connection to the cat? There was some pretty pink tissue paper wrapped around the book that Nathaniel decided to reuse to decorate Francis with. Love the fact he was thoughtful enough to include a few trucks in case the cat got bored sleeping. This scene ended with a violent rocking of the chair that surprisingly enough the cat did not enjoy.

Conked Out

A hard afternoon of watching Kung Fu Panda (aka Poo Panda) on the laptop in the kitchen.

Swingers

Enjoying Karson's new swingset but not quite big enough to sit on the swing. Nathaniel learned a lesson the hard way-do not walk in front of your cousin as he is swinging.

Hard Working Kids

Nathaniel and Sarah at the construction site. This is a classic case of monkey see, monkey do that started with me setting Sarah in the truck as a joke.

One Month Old

Hard to believe our baby is a month old already!

Big Blue Eyes

Put Some Clothes On Me!!!

Newest Trick

Nathaniel's newest trick-scaling the side of the change table and standing on top of it. Yay-because I don't have enough stuff to think about as it is.

Mr. Safety

Nice helmet, dork! No, we do not make him wear a helmet inside the house-he just likes wearing Iain's backwards pretty much 24/7 for the last few days.

The Double Diaper Change

No, it is not twice the fun. And yes, I really do change both of them at the same time this way. They seem to have learned to shit at the same time-the talent my children have. They have also mastered the art of singing, I mean crying as if the world is about to end, together in a beautiful duet every morning. It is certainly a highlight of my day.

Nice One

Just caught Nathaniel rubbing Iain's deodorant all over his face saying, "Mmmmm...Daddy's deedee yummy!".

Thanks for leaving that on the couch, Iain.

Little Red Neck

Trying out Karson's 4 wheeler and thinking he is the dude.

Sliding Fun

Nice hair!

The Fam

We went for a little day trip down to St. Andrews on the weekend and quite enjoyed ourselves. After going out for lunch, and listening to Nathaniel having his first public tantrum in a restaurant-we were so pleased, we went into one store where he had his first snit over a $5 toy. What a wonderful day of firsts!!!

We decided to walk up to Becky and Joey's house for a little visit and Nathaniel decided it was necessary to pick up every pebble and play with every spot of sand on the sidewalk. After we stopped indulging him, he decided that when he wanted to stop, he would just fall to his knees. After getting tired of dragging him along, we left him on the sidewalk and kept walking. We figured he would quickly scramble after his beloved mother and father. We walked a good 40 feet sans Nathaniel as he hollered out in a cheerful voice, "See ya! Bye Bye! Later!" and continued to lay on his belly on the sidewalk, waving. Guess that tactic was a failure.

After a quick visit with Becky and Joe, we headed to Holt's Point Beach where we were married almost 5 years ago. We hadn't been back since our wedding and I was a little shocked to see the massive salmon farming enclosures on the beach and part of the beach washed away (kind of symbolic of our marriage-hahaha!)...but once we were down on the beach by the water, it was nice. We hung out there for awhile and enjoyed the sun.

A very enjoyable day and two tired kiddies at the end of it.

Splish Splash

Here are some gigantic salmon jumping close to shore much to Nathaniel's delight. Actually, it is Mommy throwing rather large rocks in the ocean to splash Nathaniel, much to his delight. Glad the massive salmon farming enclosures were absent the day we were married.

The Sun Goddess

Here is a picture of Sarah sunning herself in a gravel pit. Actually, it is the beach we got married on outside of St. Andrews. Sarah is trying to avoid the pasty look her mother, father and brother all sport-dream on, little one!

First Time Wearing A Dress

Okay, maybe I am a bit crazy with post-pregnancy hormones since my daughter is not only wearing a dress, but a PINK dress with PINK tights...but I have to admit I think she looks pretty cute. I guess it is okay for your daughter to dress like this as long as I don't have to.

Thought I would post this as evidence for all of you that Sarah will have a fair chance to be a girly girl if she so chooses.

New Blanket

Thanks Aunt Helen for the great new blanket! Sarah loves being wrapped up in it!

Irving Nature Park

Checking out the beach. It was strange to be there and not have 140 grade 8's milling around. Nice to not have to be constantly counting heads...this is a field trip we take the kids at school on every year, FYI.

Visit With Granny

Granny flew in from Stratford for a nice visit with Nathaniel and to meet Sarah for the first time. After a few days of rain, we had some nice weather and headed down to Saint John for the day. Nathaniel had lots of fun playing hockey with Granny and Sarah enjoyed lots of snuggles. Rumour has it, Granny may make another visit soon and hopefully will drag Aunt Helen along for the ride!

Hmmm...There Must Be An Easier Way To Get That Pig
