Go Habs Go!

After such a glorious start to the first game of the play-offs for the Canadiens (2 goals in the first 2 minutes), I had to run upstairs and grab his Habs t-shirt and put it over his pyjamas. I am molding him into a Montreal fan much to Iain's horror and my delight (his team is the Maple Leafs, need I say more) and with the way Montreal played this season and the way Toronto tried to play, Iain doesn't have much of a leg to stand on. Montreal is up 2 - 0 half way through the second period of game 2 with little sign of slowing down.

I love the cockiness of the Montreal crowd-singing to the Bruins at the end of the first period. Confidence is a wonderful thing!

Is That Actually Hair?

I know it is more like a handful than a headful but it's a start. The bald spot on the back is pretty much gone which certainly helps. Check out the little curls that are starting to emerge...hee hee!

Teething, Teething

Today, Nathaniel got his first tooth. Or maybe I should say, today Iain and I finally clued in he has one. He was leaning up against the couch and he let out a big laugh and I thought I saw two little chompers on the bottom. I stuck my finger in and felt the sharp corner of one. Then I wrestled with him for 5 minutes and finally held his hands down, pried his lips apart and poked his tongue out of the way to see what the hell was going on and there is indeed one tooth partially broken through and another one just on the verge.

We went outside and told Iain and we were both excited for this step but we both lamented that the gummy smile won't be around for much longer. I adore his toothless grins and I will miss them.

This might explain his obsession for chewing on the wooden hammer Jim made him all this week.

Nate's Crate

Look at Nate and I doing crafts together! First I emptied out all the wipes I bought on sale at the Co-op, then I put Nate in the box. Then I wrote his name on it and....it's still just a boring old empty box. Sorry, Suzanne - I just don't have it in me. For those of you who don't know, I am making fun of Suzanne (or myself) because she makes pirate ships out of boxes that fill her whole garage for her kids. I am just pleased I got a good deal on wipes!

Cute Hat

Alana gave me 3 black garbage bags and 3 diaper boxes full of Karson's extremely cute cast-offs. Our dining room looked like Frenchys for about 3 days as I sorted excitedly through the heap. This hat came out of the box and I thought it looked sweet on him - I had bought it for Karson a couple of years ago and now I am finally reaping the benefits of buying Karson cute clothes when he was a baby. It was so nice to go for a walk today and not freeze to death!

The Newt Suit

This is Nathaniel's new Spring suit that he has got to try out a couple of times this week due to the fact that it has actually gone above freezing so we had rain instead of snow. It is also wonderful for putting over his fleece snowsuit for some waterproofing and protection from the wind. Today was the first time we sat him in the snow, which seems kind of weird but it has just been so cold, we haven't done a whole lot of stuff outside this winter. There is still an amazing amount of snow on our lawn. We were outside today and one of my legs went through the crust and I sunk down to the top of my leg and my boot was still not on the ground. Sigh...

Mobility

This week Nate has found out the joy of having a pair of wheels. He can go from the living room to the dining room on his own power and is very proud of himself. He shouts and squeals as he pushes himself along. He has only had 2 wipeouts, which isn't a bad driving record for a seven month old.

What Goes Up, Must Come Down

Nathaniel thinks falling is funny within the comfy confines of his playpen, not so much on the hardwood floors.
